Alex Albert is an investor in the healthcare industry, with an approach centered around building and growing companies that are bringing more value to our healthcare system through high-quality, accessible, and personalized care.

He has served on over a dozen boards across both for-profit companies and not-for-profit institutions. His background is in finance and economics, having received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vanderbilt University, a master’s degree in quantitative methods from Columbia University, and a master’s in philosophy degree in economics from Oxford University.

He has been an active member of the Esalen community, attending workshops and events over the past 15 years. Dedicated to Esalen's mission of helping everyone to realize their human potential through experience, education, and research, his passion is grounded in his own life-enhancing and transformative experiences at Esalen.

He grew up in the Central Valley of California and currently lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two children.
