Esalen opens May 3, 2024

Visitors are now able to access Esalen as well as other businesses and trails in northern Big Sur via twice-daily convoys on Highway 1 operated by Caltrans.

Convoys run only at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. These are the only opportunities to travel into and out of Big Sur, so visitors must plan accordingly.

Amina brings over two decades of expertise to the realm of intimate healing and personal growth. As the visionary founder of the Atlanta Institute of Tantra and the host of the Fix Your Sex Podcast, and a healer on Netflix’s Sex, Love and goop,  Amina has established herself as a leading voice in sacred sexuality and somatic healing.

Her journey began in 1997 as a Sex Surrogate working alongside Dr. Dean Dauw, laying the foundation for her comprehensive approach to intimacy. Amina's passion for bodywork blossomed after completing her training at the New Chicago School of Bodywork and Massage, which she touts as opening her eyes to a wide array of erotic healing modalities.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Amina has further honed her skills through Somatic Experiencing training, Reiki mastery, and yoga instruction. Her multifaceted background as a somatic healer, birth doula, personal trainer, and sex coach uniquely positions her to guide individuals through their most profound challenges related to body image, sexual trauma, self-esteem, and belonging.

A passionate sexologist, intimacy coach, sex doula, somatic bodyworker, and activist​, Amina's trauma-informed, integrative approach combines academic rigor with hands-on experience, creating safe and transformative spaces.
