Visitors are now able to access Esalen as well as other businesses and trails in northern Big Sur via twice-daily convoys on Highway 1 operated by Caltrans.
Convoys run only at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. These are the only opportunities to travel into and out of Big Sur, so visitors must plan accordingly.
Janelle Hacault is a Filipinx/French Canadian professional contemporary dance artist, actor, and embodiment coach based in Montréal, QC. She is a graduate of the School of Contemporary Dancers in Winnipeg and holds a BA Honours degree in dance from the University of Winnipeg and a BA degree in theatre performance.
Janelle has performed onstage in Annie: la comédie musicale (Just for Laughs) and Rhapsodie (Sylvain Émard Danse/DanseDanse), on film (Virginie Brunelle, Angèle Dubeau, Céline Dion, Trip the Light Fantastic), and on television (Chanteurs Masqués, Révolution season 3). She also works as a dancer in circus with Les 7 Doigts de la Main with director Gypsy Snider for Virgin Voyages. She has created several contemporary works of her own and worked on musical productions, such as Mamma Mia, Grease, Chicago, and an original musical entitled Ships with actor/musician Jeremy Walmsley.
Janelle holds a certification in the Duchêne Method from the Art of Alignment Academy. When not performing, she works as an embodiment coach, offering one-on-one sessions of somatic processing to clients. Additionally, she runs group Embodiment Sessions that mix dance and meditation and teaches a regular dance workshop collaborating with a fellow Asian artist entitled Asian Artists in Leadership. With over thirteen years of experience, Janelle’s approach to teaching is horizontal, where sharing circles and reflections are bookends to the movement practice and body-mind centering is the foundation of every exercise.
