Esalen opens May 3, 2024

Visitors are now able to access Esalen as well as other businesses and trails in northern Big Sur via twice-daily convoys on Highway 1 operated by Caltrans.

Convoys run only at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. These are the only opportunities to travel into and out of Big Sur, so visitors must plan accordingly.

Shannon Algeo (he/him), MA, RYT, is a psychotherapist, researcher, poet, teacher, deep relaxation/Yoga Nidra facilitator, and the author of Trust Your Truth. As a therapist, Shannon works with clients to heal patterns of trauma so they can show up in the world with power, presence, and purpose. He received his MA in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and is now pursuing licensure in the fields of marriage and family therapy and professional clinical counseling.

Shannon was a featured speaker at the United Nations “Yoga and the UN Culture of Peace” event, and he has been invited to speak and teach at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the global non-profit (RED) founded by Bono, and Donna Karan’s Urban Zen.
