Esalen Reopens May 3

Visitors are currently able to access Esalen as well as other businesses, parks, and trails in northern Big Sur via twice-daily convoys on Highway 1 operated by Caltrans.

Convoys run only at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. These are the only opportunities to travel into and out of Big Sur, so visitors must plan accordingly.

Due to road closures along Highway 1 to our north and south, Esalen is closed through April 11.
Esalen Institute is open! However, Highway 1 to the south is closed — please review the alternate route directions.

Sylvie Rokab

Born in Rio and raised by French and Italian parents who were born in Egypt, Sylvie is a certified nature therapy guide, mindfulness teacher, and Emmy-nominated filmmaker. By blending these disciplines, Sylvie offers simple but powerful techniques that help participants release anxiety, confusion, and isolation to access the healing, wisdom, and wonder that can only be found with nature.

 Narrated by Liam Neeson, her film LOVE THY NATURE earned 27 awards and launched over 300 global screening events – helping viewers realize that the illusion of separation from nature is at the root cause of human suffering. 

 Through her workshops, Sylvie helps rekindle mindful loving awareness and the realization of nature’s power to transform. Participants often share that they take home a deep sense of belonging, joy, aliveness, and a desire to protect our spellbinding world.

 Fluent in four languages, Sylvie is a loving and engaging guide who is passionate about helping others discover the beauty and power of their inner and outer nature, while deepening their relationship with themselves, others, and our spellbinding world.
