Chanting and Storytelling: Yoga of the Heart

September 16–18, 2022

with Janet Stone

Immerse yourself in the bhakti traditions of chanting and mythology. These traditions create a bridge between the individual and the eternal.

With Janet Stone, explore the many aspects of the “One” through the beautifully woven stories of the deities. These tales, shared over the centuries, reflect timeless themes of our human condition. They help reflect our own stories, especially and curiously in these modern times. Through this practice we see aspects of ourselves revealed through the deity archetypes, and explore how that can assist us in understanding and journeying through our own “hero’s journey”.

Janet’s engrossing story-telling and heartfelt practice of chanting cultivate space for us to reflect on some of our most pivotal moments in life as we begin to own the story of our own life’s journey.

We will explore:

  • Mantras and meanings
  • Stories of the deities, aspects of the self, and the telling our own stories
  • Our own individual meanings of devotion
  • Expression through sound and voice
  • Freeing your voice
  • Sanskrit chants
  • Intention and sound

Through story and chanting, we unite our individual voices with all those around us. Together we move with a stream of intention and devotion that has been flowing for centuries.

Each day will include a morning yoga practice with musical accompaniment, followed by discussion, time to write and share, and chanting.
