Visitors are now able to access Esalen as well as other businesses and trails in northern Big Sur via twice-daily convoys on Highway 1 operated by Caltrans.
Convoys run only at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. These are the only opportunities to travel into and out of Big Sur, so visitors must plan accordingly.
Please note: On Wednesday September 20, online registration may be unavailable for up to 15 minutes while system maintenance is performed. If the 'Register Now' page does not load, please wait about 15 minutes and try again.
Trust — a key ingredient in the web of life — can calm and boost our immune system, uplift our spirit, and make us braver to take risks, speak our truth, and listen deeply to others. During this month of yoga, dance, and sound meditation, our journey together fosters personal wellbeing and community harmony as we consciously orient toward trust in ourselves, others, and the unknown.
The rhythm of our month:
Week 1: The Foundation of Embodiment Practices
Explore the alignment principles of yoga asanas, breath practices, sound meditation, conscious dance, and self-care rituals.
Week 2: Devotion and Discipline
Practice, practice, practice. Dive deeply into your own personal daily practice.
Week 3: Experiment in Trust
Apply what you learn in class to work and the larger community. Establish new habits that nurture trust.
Week 4: Integration
Integrate our experiences. According to the yogic study of the koshas, the five multi-dimensional layers of being are body, breath, mind, consciousness, and soul. When all five layers are aligned, we experience our authentic self.
Immersion in embodiment practices provides direct, purposeful ways to help you:
When we trust, we can respond with confidence and resilience in crisis time. As you work wholeheartedly, allow yourself to be nourished by Esalen’s sacred land and hot spring waters, the healing and energizing practices we share together, and the friends you make, so you return home with renewed trust that you have everything you need to dance with the great unknown.
