Bringing Together the Esalen Community

A Message from Esalen

With the decision to close Esalen Institute temporarily to public workshops, we know many in our community may have questions now and in the coming weeks. Our most important priority is you — our Esalen community that includes guests, faculty, staff and friends.

We have successfully supported the departure of our last workshop guests, and anyone with a workshop reservation beginning March 15, 2020 through the next four weeks will be given a full refund automatically. Our Esalen staff remain employed and those who can work from home will do so. All staff who live on property may stay on property and we will steward the land and ready Esalen to welcome you back.

When Esalen closed three years ago, we felt profoundly the power of community in supporting our wellbeing. In a time of social distancing, we are committed to balancing responsible behavior with ensuring we still find ways to connect and support each other. We look forward to sharing new ways of fostering our sense of community.
